To begin, Sidra is a full International Baccalaureate school, which means that our secondary students pursue the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. Because our teachers are passionate about education, we have exceptional MYP and DP results. Moreover, students at Sidra have the opportunity to pursue a variety of enriching extracurricular experiences in addition to their focus on Service as Action and Creativity, Activity, and Service. At Sidra, students participate in House events, Week Without Walls, Model United Nations, and have access to world class facilities that are part of Qatar Foundation. The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Grade 6-10
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) is designed for students aged 11 to 16. It provides a framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

The Middle Years Programme is a holistic learning experience where student learning across eight learning areas in addition engaging in service as action and completing a personal project. Approaches to learning skills are critical in supporting the development of conceptual understandings. The programme empowers students to inquire into a wide range of issues and ideas of significance locally, nationally and globally. The result is young people who are creative, critical and reflective thinkers. Each year, students in the IB Middle Years Programme engage in at least one collaboratively planned interdisciplinary unit that involves at least two subject groups.
All students in MYP-5 must complete the personal project. Students work independently, developing a truly personal and creative product or performance. In a structured report, students apply the skills they have developed in the programme and reflect on their personal and academic growth.

The IB Diploma Programme is uniquely designed to support all students for success going into, and throughout, university. It is offered in many schools across the world, including private, independent, international, and state-funded schools. The IB Diploma Programme graduates are well-equipped to adjust, engage and succeed. They graduate with analytical, writing, communication and presentation skills; research experience; excellent organization and time management; the ability to approach a topic from multiple perspectives; and a deep understanding of academic concepts.
In MYP-5 (Grade 10) students are eligible for the IBMYP Certificate. This certificate is recognized globally as an equivalent qualification for students in Grade 10 (age of 15-16 years old).
The IBMYP Certificate requires students to engage in a rigours external assessment process which includes e-Assessment examinations, portfolio submissions and the completion of the Personal Project.
MYP eAssessment provides external validation of achievement for students in MYP year 5 in the form of an MYP certificate or course results. e-Assessments in the MYP focus on conceptual understanding and the ability to apply knowledge in complex, unfamiliar situations. They offer a robust and reliable assessment of student achievement in the MYP.
•Two-hour examinations in four subject groups (language and literature, sciences, mathematics, individuals and societies) and in interdisciplinary learning are individually marked by IB examiners.
•Portfolios of student work for four subject groups (language acquisition, physical and health education, arts, and design) are moderated by IB examiners to international standards.

Grade 12 Certifications
Qatar Academy Sidra (QA Sidra) prides itself on mentoring students to reach their full potential through individualized attention tailored to their skills, interests, and aspirations. Faculty members are dedicated to students’ well-being and academic success and take the time to guide and support them as they make key decisions that impact their futures. Wherever their individual pathways to success may take them, QA Sidra endeavors to help students identify, develop and realize their goals.
There are different qualification pathways that students may pursue. All of these pathways lead to High School graduation and are accepted by different universities and colleges here in Qatar and globally. All of these pathways have the potential to meet Qatar Ministry of Education requirements for equivalency recognition.
Determination of which pathway is right for each student can be made on the results of the MYP programme at the conclusion of MYP-5. This depends on the academic results of the students and is based on approaches to learning, teacher recommendation, student interview, student interests, and parental input.
Students may complete the IB Diploma Programme with one of the following outcomes
IB Bilingual Diploma
IB Diploma Certificate for one or more selected IB Diploma courses
QA Sidra High School Diploma
Qatar Ministry of Education equivalency recognition
All qualification pathways provide students with the opportunity to gain a QA Sidra High School Diploma in conjunction with the IB Diploma Certification.
