INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY
International Mother Language Day was an opportunity for QA Sidra to celebrate the diversity of languages within our school community. To
celebrate our QA Sidra student, Dalal Al Rumaihi, who is the youngest published Qatari author read her book “Where is My Teacher” to the
school community. Then to further explore languages QA Sidra teachers ran language learning experiences for students which included language
games and activities in Maori, Tagalog, Sign Language, Greek, Somali,
Turkish, English, Arabic, and French. In addition representatives from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), facilitated language learning
experiences for our students in Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Through all of the planned activities our QA Sidra
community demonstrated a love for language learning and international-mindedness.
