QAS CELEBRATES QATAR SUSTAINABILITY WEEK
Qatar Academy Sidra and Qatar Reads are working together to develop a reading culture nationwide in a comprehensive, attractive and appropriate manner. The goal is to educate the people of Qatar of all ages, and people from different cultures and backgrounds about the importance of reading in our lives and our communities.
This project is specifically focused on providing children who are hospitalized the opportunity to access books. The project is sponsored by Qatar Reads who have put a portable library cart into Hamad Hospital. The project is specifically aimed at children to promote creativity and thinking and enables QAS students to be empowered to build positive relationships and demonstrate leadership.
Through the project, QAS students read interesting stories that relate to the Qatari identity and culture. Each story is linked to an individual or group activity for the children in the hospital. The stories and activities reinforce and support the children’s love of reading and connect them to the reality of life in an innovative way.
