QATARI CULTURAL EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Held on the 6th and 7th November, the QAS Grade 6 Week Without Walls trips offered a Qatari Cultural Experience. This started with a tour of Zubarah Fort, an old Qatari Police Station built in 1938. Then the students traveled to Mr. Mohammed’s fully sustainable farm. He demonstrated how he used solar power within his house. Students learned how he planted his crops and kept them watered. After exploring his farm, they ate a delicious, Qatari style lunch.
On the second day, the students became camel trekkers for the day. They took the ‘ships of the desert’ across the dunes to the beach after hearing all about how camels adapt to the desert in order to survive.
